Redmi Earbuds S vs Realme Buds Q

Redmi Earbuds S vs Realme Buds Q – Which one is more worth buying?

Realme Buds, Buds Wireless are two different models of the Air Buds. However, there was a small price change between the two earbuds. Realme also did not introduce a wireless product. The Realme Buds Q is the first pair of stemless and wireless earbuds from Realme. It also is the first wireless audio product that is within the budget price level of below Rs 2000. It is priced Rs 1999, the Realme Buds Q is not the cheapest of the competition from Earbuds from various other companies. These will be introduced from July 1, 2020 in India through Amazon and Now, let’s compare Redmi S versus Realme Q.

Xiaomi surprisingly introduced the Redmi Earbuds S with a price lower than the Realme Buds Q. It is priced just Rs.1799. The TWS earphones are designed to have a wireless audio experience. As there’s a huge market the Redmi Earbuds S is a viable option for anyone planning to replace their old wired earphones.

Realme Buds Q :

The Realme Buds Q is in a compact form factor. The case of the buds is small to fit in any pocket, purse, or backpack. There is a small LED in front of the case that lights up when the case is charging. So we cannot estimate how much power is remaining in the case.

On the back, there is a micro-USB port below the hinge. There are no straight lines in the Realme Q EarBuds. The design of the Realme Buds Q is so simple that even the branding on top is clear. Realme introduced with the glossy-black font on matte-black look instead of the white on the black look of other earbuds. The pebble-shaped case has the two earbuds inside it. The minimal and classy looking matte black finish of the case is present inside the case too.

The earbuds are covered with matte black color. But the Realme branding on each earbud is not covered. This glossy area frames the buds in a semi-dual-tone attire. It also suits the touch area for gesture-based playback control. The earbuds are weighted 3.6 grams per bud. The lightweight is convenient on the ears for long hours. But the users cannot realize when a bud falls. The lack of a hanging stem and any weight dragging the buds down allows the buds to stay in their ears. Also, these cannot be falling down, even without any ear hook.

Redmi Earbuds S :

Xiaomi has released the Redmi Earbuds S with a lot of functions. These are premium wireless earbuds. The Redmi Earbuds S also promises a long-lasting 12-hour battery life. The earbuds can connect to smart devices. These also contain an IPX4 rated design. In addition, some of the functions of the Redmi Earbuds S include dedicated gaming mode (low latency mode) which brings class-leading wireless latency to 122ms. The earbuds are light at 4.1 grams per bud.

The specs and real-life performance can have a huge difference with the Realme Buds Q. The users can use the Redmi Earbuds S in daily life for music and voice calls.

The Redmi Earbuds S has an outer charging case with tiny black color. The pill-shaped case has a matte coating and is lightweight to carry. However, be careful while storing it in bag packs as the quality of plastic used is of low quality and can cause damage. These can be used under Rs.2,000. However, the lack of a Type C charging port is an issue.

Redmi Earbuds S and Realme Buds Q Comparison:

In appearance, both Realme Buds Q and Redmi Earbuds S adopt an oval design style similar to a small pebble. There is no straight line between the earplugs and the charging box. They are inspired by soft, round pebbles that fit the curves of the palm and ear.

The Realme Buds Q weighs only 3.6g per earplug, while the charging box weighs 35.3g. It is small and easy to bag. The Redmi Earbuds S has a weight of 4.1g. Three models of earplugs are prepared for closeness and firmness. However, these will not fall even while running, boxing, and listening to music on the road.

Audio Quality

Realme Buds Q :

The Realme Buds Q got good support from its design. The sound quality is excellent despite the small size and the feather-like buds. The presence of 10mm dynamic drivers is responsible for good sound. The vocals sound crisp and the bass is clean. The sound has a surprising amount of depth to it.

While the audio favors bass output, there is no lag on the buds when listening to audio. The Realme Buds Q can be powerful through performances and instrumental covers. The Buds Q supports the AAC audio codec.

The call quality of the Realme Buds Q is good but not the best in extremely noisy outdoor conditions, like most TWS earbuds. When indoors, they work fine and these are fairly clear during parties. But Realme mentioned the water-resistance is only on the buds. The case has an open micro-USB port. These buds cannot survive a shower, sweat, or some rain. So keep the case away from water to avoid any damage.

The magnets hold the earbuds firmly. The buds are very lightweight and are built on an in-ear design suitable on any ear with a form-factor. The buds are IPX4 rated, which makes them sweat and splash-proof similar to the mid-range Galaxy Buds.

Redmi Earbuds S :

The Redmi Earbuds S may disappoint if an individual is fond of the sound quality. These are low-cost wireless earbuds with good performance. They sound fine like TWS earphones using them mostly for voice calls and as secondary earphones. The audio delivery is towards the bass delivery similar to most of the budget wireless earphones like Neckband, TWS earphones, etc.

The brands, except the Realme Buds Air and the Buds Air Neo, focus more on mids and high frequencies. The users can stream music through the offline music player, and music streaming apps such as Spotify and YouTube Music. There will be a disturbance in the background while listening to tracks, especially in the mid-bass region. Due to the overpowering bass, the tracks sound clumsy and irritating. The Redmi Earbuds S gives a decent sound. But the overall audio does not have clarity.

But the booming bass in the background creates an oomph factor, which attracts consumers who prefer the particular audio response. An equalizer will allow you to fine-tune the audio to some extent. The users can use while streaming music on the offline music player to improve the sound output. This pair of wireless earphones cost as low as Rs. 1,799. The Redmi Earbuds S allows for voice calls in daily life. The voice is fine and audible. These are suited for using indoors. So use the Redmi Earbuds S indoors so that the microphones perform well on voice calls.

Realme Buds Q :

The Realme Buds Q have touch gestures to control calls and playback. There are three Gestures on each earbud. A double-tap, a triple-tap, and a long press are the buttons. If the users use the Realme Link app, they can customize these gestures. While the gestures are pretty flexible with music, they cannot customize during calls. If any user accidentally long presses during a call, it will automatically cut the call. The users cannot change this gesture or turn this off.

The Redmi Earbuds S does not contain any gesture controls. However, they rely on physical buttons to provide basic functionality. If the users are not able to pair the buds by simply taking them out from the charging case, they can also long-press the buttons to initiate the pairing mode. Redmi Earbuds S versus Realme Buds Q :

The users can connect to their phones by waiting for two to three seconds for smartphone detection. The case does not have any pairing button.

For Rs 1,999, the Realme Buds Q is not perfect but affordable due to the elements like charging speed, performance, etc. Also, the lack of a four-part LED indicator on the case is disappointing. The earbuds are finally a good, budget-friendly wireless earbuds package.

The Redmi Earbuds S is a viable option due to the Xiaomi brand tag and number of functions of TWS earphones at a low price. These budget earbuds have solid connectivity and battery life.
