Qualcomm’s Revolutionary Fingerprint Sensor:
Qualcomm has released a slew of products over the last few years. Most of these products have been Processors though, from the Snapdragon division. The company has now launched a great new piece of technology. We all know about the fingerprint scanners in our smartphones. These fingerprint scanners are a hefty piece of technology as they keep our device protected and also help us unlock it faster. The one big problem with them is that they take up space on the bottom part of the device or the back of the device. Qualcomm’s latest fingerprint scanner is about to change all of this though. The latest Qualcomm’s Revolutionary Fingerprint Sensor is able to do work under different materials. These new Qualcomm’s Revolutionary Fingerprint Sensors can also be installed under a device’s screen.

Qualcomm’s Revolutionary Fingerprint Sensor Details:
Qualcomm has announced this technology at the ongoing Mobile World Congress in Shanghai. The technology is the new fingerprint scanning and authentication technology. Qualcomm is calling it the Qualcomm Fingerprint sensor. This technology is the latest in the smartphone technology. After the arrival of edge to edge screens, this was the next logical step. This allows the manufacturers to fit the fingerprint sensor under the device’s display and saves space.
The sensor is the latest ultrasonic fingerprint sensor from Qualcomm that now works through displays. It works under OLED display stacks up to 1.2mm thick, up to 0.8mm of the cover glass, or up to 0.65mm of aluminum (an increase from 0.4mm for both glass or metal). Another great feature is that it works well even when the sensor wet or greasy. This is a particular problem with today’s sensors, the capacitive fingerprint sensor. This news might also be a great one for the tech giant Apple and Samsung. Apple and Samsung have been planning to launch under screen fingerprint scanners in their next flagship devices, namely, Apple iPhone 8 and the Samsung Galaxy Note 8. Both the manufacturers though were facing problems with the technology. Thus the new Qualcomm’s Revolutionary Fingerprint Sensor relieves them from their headaches.
