Huawei launches Huawei G8 with finger print scanner

World’s third-largest smartphone maker Huawei seems to be bolstering its smartphone range across categories.

Alongwith its hig-end Mate S smartphone, the Chinese giant also showcased its metal-bodied G8 smartphone at the ongoing IFA trade show in Europe.

Huawei G8 runs Android 5.1 Lollipop skinned with the company’s Emotion UI 3.1. The smartphone features a fingerprint scanner at the back, which can be used to unlock the phone, answer calls, or control alarms.

The smartphone comes with a 5.5-inch HD screen with 920x1080p FHD resolution.

Powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor, Huawei G8 has 3GB RAM and packs with 32GB internal storage.

The new Huawei phone offers 3,000mAh battery and comes with a 13MP rear camera and 5MP front camera.

The phone supports 4G, 3G, GPRS/EDGE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, microUSB and GPS as connectivity options.
