Speed is an important factor to consider before choosing a web host. So I purchased two domain names and hosted each one on both HostGator and GoDaddy with same theme files. I used Pingdom to check the loading time of two test sites.
HostGator loaded in 4.52 seconds to load where as GoDaddy was fast, taking around 1.35 seconds. Godaddy test site was thrice faster than hostgator.

GoDaddy vs HostGator: The UI
HostGator cPanel is not in much used control panel . You need the help of a geek to use it. It provides everything you need. It is important to have a user friendly interface so that new learner can easily handle it without any issue. on the other hand uses its own customized control panel. It does provide script installers just like the conventional cPanel’s feature. But the interface is quite different than the conventional cPanel. This custom control panel that GoDaddy use may not be as good to eyes as cPanel, but you will get used it very
On the other hand godaddy uses its own customized control panel far better tha hostgator .It will provide you script installers just like the conventional cPanel’s feature. This custom control panel is very quick that GoDaddy use may not be as good to eyes as cPanel.
Winner: godaddy – Easy to use cPanel which is use by millions
Customer Support and Reliability
Company brand value depend on customer support. My personal experiance with hostgator is wrost. It is one of the reason we shifted. They never reply on mail properly and if u repeatly mail them then they will reply without understanding the problem. I tried to call them on phone but guys seems to have very less knowledge of server thing. Everytime you have to explain the whole problem if u call them 5 times for same problem.
Where GoDaddy is the renowned king of Domain Registration service and hosting. It wouldn’t be the leading company if it don’t have good support team.GoDaddy too has live chatand ticketing system. You can talk to them anytime and get your issues solved within minutes.
Winner: GoDaddy – Good customer support, good reliability
Why people use hostgator if it has so much problem ?
1- Affiliate:- Hostgator pay a huge money to affiliate guy. Around 10-15k per customer if u bring. They show less on their panel, they call to their affiliate guy to push the sale and get more money.
2- Paid advertisement on all big blogs and newspaper to grab user trust and attention.
