The Chinese based company, Lenovo has confirmed its recent smartphones Motorola Moto Z Launch and Moto Mods. It has also revealed that it would be expanding its offline retail stores in India. Aymar de Lencquesaing, Senior Vice President, Lenovo Group, Co-President, MBG (Mobile Business Group), Chairman and President, Motorola Mobility told the press that Motorola Moto Z launch and Moto Mods launch will take place anytime around September or October and these two mobiles will have more scope in the Indian Market.
On asked about the developer ecosystem in India, Lencquesaing said that there is an existing developer team in Bengaluru and it will be extended by holding several developer competitions in India. Lenovo recently announced an international developer competition that the best idea will be rewarded with $1 million to put the idea into work. He also added that Lenovo is looking to succeed in the offline sales just like they did in online sales. He also told that the Lenovo would look forward to sell many smartphones offline too but did not mention any time frame.
Lenovo owned Module Development Kit (MDK) of Moto Mods is available for sale to third party developers. Moto Mods is designed with magnetic snap-on back panel. Lenovo showcased the moto Mods to the media which connect to 16 dots at the rear. During the launch, Moto Mods will include JBL SoundBoost, the Moto Insta-Share Projector which would give a 70-inch projector experience and the Power Pack to get additional battery life. There are no details available regarding the price of Moto Z and Moto Mods.
To recall, Lenovo launched the Moto Z and Moto Z Force recently in Tech World 2016 at San Francisco. It also launched the Lenovo Phab 2 Pro, the first Tango smartphone developed in association with Google at the same event.
